A family-owned food truck that joined the Ocala scene last month has been serving up made-to-order, thin-crust, wood-fired pizzas.
Mr. Z’s Mobile Woodfired Pizza is now open for business next to the Big Lots in the 103rd Street Plaza, near the intersection of State Road 200 and 103rd Street in southwest Ocala.
Owned and operated by Michael and Jenn Zacco, the business held a grand opening celebration in March.
Mr. Z’s specializes in baking quick, made-to-order pizzas in an oven that reaches temperatures over 800 degrees Fahrenheit.
Pizzas may be customized with different cheeses and classic meats including thick-cut pepperoni, sweet Italian sausage, Canadian ham, and bacon.
In addition to the meat and cheese options, pizzas may also be topped with onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, sautéed spinach, and pineapple.
For customers looking to finish their meal with a sweet treat, Mr. Z’s also serves fresh cannolis.
Although Mr. Z’s is regularly open at the plaza from Wednesday to Friday (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.), as its name suggests, the food truck is “mobile” and is available for catering and events.
