Elizabeth Ann Daigle. A beloved wife, mother, and cherished member of her community, peacefully departed from this world to be with the Lord on April 17 th , 2024.

She was born on September 6 th , 1937 in Wallagrass, Maine. Betty was the second daughter of Lindore and Myrtle Labbe. She graduated from Fort Kent Community High School in 1955 at the age of 17 which marked the beginning of a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Betty worked as an administrative assistant for Travel’s Insurance in Hartford, Connecticut.

In 1959, she married her beloved husband Joseph with whom she shared a lifetime of devotion and joy. Betty and Joseph moved back to Wallagrass in 1971 with three children, a
pregnant cat, and a turtle.

Joseph wanted to be a potato farmer so they established a potato farm along the Fish River. They also raised chickens, pigs, sheep, and cattle. In the early 1980’s, Betty opened “The Outlet” which was a clothing and shoe store in Fort Kent. She took great pride in providing high quality footwear and clothing for the people of Northern Maine.

In July 0f 1995, Betty and Joseph moved to Ocala, Florida to be closer to her sister Marilyn and husband Jim. Not too long later, Betty and Joseph spent time traveling the country by RV and sending postcards to friends and relatives back home. She loved to travel and spoke often and with great fondness of her visit to South Africa. From the snow-covered mountains of Alaska to encountering lions on the safari, Betty was always up for an adventure. She truly enjoyed the outdoors, spending many days with her family on the boat or grilling out at Loons Echo Campground on Eagle Lake. More often than not, Betty could be found out for a walk on

the roads around her community, stopping to spend time and chat with her
friends and neighbors, all of whom loved her.

Betty is survived by her devoted husband Joseph, her sisters Jackie and Geraldine of Connecticut as well as several nieces and nephews. Betty was a loving mother to her four children: Gerald, Brian Daigle and his wife Janet of Vernon, Connecticut, Denise Anderson and her husband Jon of Wallagrass, Maine, and Margaret “Peggy” Watkins and her husband Joel of
Ocala, Florida.

Betty was blessed with seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Patricia Daigle and her fiancé Eric of Orange City, Florida and their son Eli, Cody Anderson and his wife Mary of Orono, Maine and their son Caleb, Alyssa Bailey and her husband Jordan of Plaistow, New Hampshire, Amanda Rasch of Jacksonville, Florida, Alicia Daigle and her partner Matthew McClure of Vernon, Connecticut, B Daigle and their partner Jin Jin Heipler of Concord Massachusetts, and Jesse Anderson of Wallagrass, Maine.

Betty was predeceased by her son Gerald, as well as her sisters, Marilyn Keegan and Gail Kolasinski.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 5 SE 17 th Street, Ocala, Florida on May 5 th , 2024 at 3 p.m. For those who would want to attend, please wear red as that was Betty’s favorite color.
