To the Editor:
We now live in Ocala because we decided it was time to downsize. But, given that the last time we lived in a city I was 19 years old. When we made the decision to downsize we both had already seen our 90th birthdays. I didn’t want to own another house. So renting one was the answer. Moving this late in life was the first challenge. In all previous moves we had job assisted help. For this move, I had to do everything myself: Hire a Realtor and a mover, hold a yard sale, guess what to take and what to sell. Look for a suitable place to rent with help from a realtor, learn the yes and no of unassisted moving while finding the locations of new doctors, eating places, and getting hair cuts. Learning all about life in the city at 90 years old with no help has truly been a challenge.
