Polo season kicking off in Ocala, opening delayed

The Ocala Polo Club will kick off its spring season with an opening day event next weekend.

Originally scheduled for Saturday, May 4, opening day for the Ocala Polo Club’s spring season will take place on Saturday, May 11.

“Due to our Polo Director’s untimely dismount and subsequent titanium addition, we are postponing the opening of the Spring Season to Saturday May 11,” reads a statement from the organization.

The Spring Season will take place every Saturday through May and June, wrapping with an Independence Cup on July 6. Each weekend will feature different cups and activities.

Gates open on event days at 4 p.m., with matches starting at 5 p.m. throughout the month of May. Matches start at 6 p.m. in June and July.

According to the organization, matches are family-friendly and dogs are welcome permitted they are well-behaved and leashed.
