Audrey Joy Clapper, 88, of Ocala, Florida, formerly of Altoona, passed away Monday June 4, 2018 at Ocala Regional Medical Center with family present, after an extended illness. She was born February 18, 1930 in Altoona, the daughter of Edward and Margaret (McKee) Batey and married Kenneth R. Clapper in 1949.

Surviving are four children, Gregg (Cyndi), Scott (Gail), Leslee Sady (Steve) and Leigh Martino; nine grandchildren, Alyson, Marisa, Bevin, Michael, Andrew, Bethany, Kelsea, Kathryn and Tayler; four great grandchildren, Aiden, Elias, Reagan and Adina. She is also survived by a sister, Shirley McConnell.

She is preceded in death by her longtime companion, Joseph Neff, who passed October 31, 2017 in Ocala, Florida.

Audrey was a 1948 Graduate of Altoona Area School District. She was an accomplished seamstress and an interior decorator with J.C Penney’s for many years. Audrey enjoyed sewing throughout her lifetime and was a perfectionist known for her attention to detail and design. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, and keeping in touch with family and friends, her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who all loved her dearly.

Family will be receiving friends for A Celebration of Life Friday, June 22, 2018, 4 to 8 at the Fiore Farm Reservoir Road Hollidaysburg, PA and would like to extend a special thanks to Kay Eicher, Dr. Patterson and the nursing staff who cared for Audrey. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Audrey’s memory may be given to your favorite charity.
