If you are looking for an Ocala Japanese steakhouse that offers hibachi and sushi with a modern backdrop, you may try Yamato the next time you’re out.
The restaurant, which is located at 4714 SW College Rd near Starbucks and Dillards, is one of four locations in the state of Florida, with others in Gainesville, Wesley Chapel, and St. Augustine.
Ocala-News.com recently stopped by the restaurant for lunch, which is offered Friday through Sunday starting at noon. Normal business hours on Monday through Thursday are 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the restaurant staying open until 10:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 9:00 p.m. on Sunday.
From eel to tuna, to shrimp and vegetarian rolls, the classically trained sushi chefs offer a variety of options to satisfy any palate.
In addition to the variety of sushi options, the restaurant features multiple hibachi surfaces, or traditional flattop grills, used to make “teppanyaki,” a style of Japanese food made from a grill or griddle.
