A local CVS was closed as part of 46 nationwide store closures for the pharmacy giant.
The CVS located at 1607 S. Pine Avenue has closed its doors for good after the company announced performance issues during its most recent financial quarter.
According to Business Insider, the decision was made “after a thorough review of each store’s lease obligations and financial performance, among other factors.”
The store, which was one of nearly a dozen locations within the city of Ocala, is directing customers that need to fill prescriptions to a sister location at 1719 SE Lake Weir Avenue.
Among the nearly 10,000 stores operated by the pharmacy, the 46 store closures included four locations in Florida.
The store on Pine Avenue has been emptied and the company’s name has been removed from its building.
