A Silver Springs woman was arrested after a fight with another woman outside the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
Sabrina Gabrielle Plaza, 23, of NE 167th Terrace, was charged with domestic battery after the altercation, which happened Monday outside the MCSO’s Central Operations Office at 692 NW 30th Avenue, where a deputy observed two women arguing over a cell phone.
The deputy said argument quickly escalated into a physical altercation in the parking lot. He said Plaza grabbed the victim’s hands and wrists and forcefully pulled her around as they were near the victim’s vehicle. The deputy did not observe any visible injuries to Plaza or the victim, according to the sheriff’s office report.
Plaza told the deputy that she and the victim were “playing,” and that she didn’t want to ride in the vehicle with the victim. She was taken to the Marion County Jail, where she was released Tuesday on her own recognizance. Plaza is scheduled to appear in Marion County Court on July 18.
