A 73-year-old Ocala man who was upset about his wife’s friend using their shower found himself behind bars Tuesday.
A Marion County sheriff’s deputy was called to a home in the 11100 block of SW 76th Avenue and when he arrived, a woman said that her husband, John Joseph Klopotowski, was upset because her 69-year-old friend who was staying with her was taking a shower. The woman said Klopotowski became aggressive with her friend, grabbed her arms using both hands and said, “Get the (expletive deleted) out of my house,” the report says.
The victim told the deputy that she heard a verbal altercation while she was in the restroom. She said she walked out and Klopotowski grabbed her and told her to leave, the report says, adding that the deputy noted red marks and multiple scratches on the victim’s arms, which appeared “to be consistent with someone grabbing her with force.”
Klopotowski admitted that a verbal altercation took place but claimed it never turned physical. He was then taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with battery on a person 65 years of age or older. He was being held on $1,000 bond and is due in court Sept. 3 at 9 a.m.
