The Vanguard High School Players will host improv and monologue-based shows at the school’s Black Box Theatre later beginning next week.
The shows, entitled Commedia 2.0 and Coffeehouse Cabaret, will be hosted at Vanguard High School’s Black Box Theatre, located in building 7, room 3, at 7 NW 28th Street.
For the first time in its history, the troupe will host a two-night event on Friday and Saturday, November 8 and 9 for Commedia 2.0, which will feature improvisational humor similar to “Whose Line is It Anyway,” according to a press release from the school.
Tickets for Commedia 2.0 will cost $5 for one night and $7 for two.
Coffeehouse Cabaret will complimentary baked goods, and two acts of entertainment, with one being a variety of performances by students, staff, and alumni, and the other a performance of Ghosts in the Machine, a one-act digital mystery that focuses on a bizarre string of texts to different high school students.
Tickets for Coffeehouse Cabaret are $15 and include unlimited drinks, snacks, and a coffee mug. Tickets are only $10 if attendees bring their mugs from last year.
Both shows will open doors at 6:30 p.m., with the first performances beginning at 7:00 p.m.
