An Ocala woman was jailed last week after being caught trespassing on her grandmother’s property on Juniper Trail.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy was called to the property on Wednesday by the mother of 31-year-old Leigh-Anna Brooke Griffis. When he arrived, he found Griffis sleeping on a couch inside the residence. The deputy had previously issued a trespass order to Griffis regarding the property, so he placed her under arrest and transported her to the Marion County Jail.

Griffis was charged with trespassing and released early Friday morning on her own recognizance. She is due in court on Feb. 18 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charge.

Griffis also was arrested in January 2019 along with two other people after a sheriff’s deputy stopped her in the parking lot of the Queens Garden Resort in Ocala. A short time later, a sheriff’s K-9 alerted on the vehicle, indicating the presence of narcotics.
