A Citra woman is accused of battering her live-in boyfriend after he told her and members of her family to leave the home.
Cassie Renee Clifford, 38, was charged with simple domestic battery after the incident, which happened shortly after noon Thursday.
The victim told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy that he was in the bedroom when he told Clifford that he wanted her to leave the house along with her sister and her children. The victim said when he told her this, Clifford got up from the bed and knocked the phone from his hand, according to the sheriff’s office report.
The victim said Clifford punched him twice in the face and slapped him. He said while he was leaving the bedroom, Clifford closed the door on his foot and held it there. The deputy observed red marks and bruising on the victim’s face, the report said.
Clifford told the deputy that she and the victim were arguing when he hit a cup out of her hand, causing it to hit her in the face. She denied striking the victim. There were no marks or injuries on her face, according to the report.
Clifford was taken to the Marion County Jail, where she was released Friday on $250 bond. She’ll appear in Marion County Court on July 8.
