An Ocklawaha man fresh out of jail for driving an unregistered motorcycle without a license was arrested again after being caught on the bike coming home from the dollar store.

At around 6:30 p.m. April 11, a Marion County sheriff’s deputy was a green Kawasaki motorcycle traveling at a high speed on SE 160th Court Road without a license plate attached to it. The deputy initiated a traffic stop and the motorcycle pulled into the driveway of a residence on SE 108th Loop, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The driver of the motorcycle was identified as Warren Samuel Victor Ward, 22, of 10800 SE 160th Court. Ward admitted he did not have a valid license and that the motorcycle he was operating was not registered, the report said.

Ward said he had traveled to the Dollar General store near his home and was returning home when he was stopped. He said he knew he was not supposed to be driving and that he had only been out of jail a few days after being arrested for driving the same vehicle, according to the report.

Marion County Jail records show Ward was in custody April 2-5 on a charge of fleeing an officer with lights and siren active. After being read his Miranda warning, Ward admitted he knew he was driving an unregistered motor vehicle and that his license was suspended, the report said.

Ward was charged with driving with a suspended license (second or subsequent offense) and failing to register a motor vehicle. He was taken back to jail, where this time he’ll stay until Tuesday (April 20).
