Beulah Baker Harvey “Queen B.B.”

Although heaven is a beautiful place, God sent her down to Florida State. He trusted David & Leola Baker Sr. to care for this Queen, on a farm in Citra, if you please. That farm had horses, cows, chickens, roosters, and dogs, and she spent much of her time milking cows and calling hogs.

They had Mulberry, peach, plum, and pear trees. Peanuts, okra, and field peas. But it wasn’t all fun and no play, for the Bakers dozen, holiness was the only way. On May 7, 1937, she became number 9. She was beautiful, black, and yes fine. She was Edna’s and Lizzie’s little doll baby, Papa’s girl, no maybe.

Juniors partner in crime and Joe’s choice to dinner and dine. One husband was all she had, Walter Harvey Jr., Cement finisher, we called him dad. A widow she remained after that, serving the Lord, wearing her hats. She fed the hungry, she clothe the poor, everyone knew they could always knock on her door.

A Word of prayer, sound advise, she always pointed to The Way, The Truth, and The Life. Prayer warrior, friend of God, Florida sunshine and Georgia peach, the love in her heart ran deep.

Sick she was many, many days but she was a woman of great faith. Singing of Gratitude and No Vacancies, Get Out, her praise was heard in the hospital and dialysis because God was what she was about. She loved her Cook- ie, that’s Roger Dean, and waited to see her before this earth she would leave.

Family was what she was all about. Proud grandmother, there was no doubt. Secret keeper, candy sneaker and money exchange, just keep going baby and make those good grades. An understanding look, a shoulder for your pain, It doesn’t matter where you’ve come from you can still get up again. Grammy, Grandma, B.B. a wealth of knowledge a safe place to be.

Her children were truly her crown in this life. She loved them all, wrong or right. Quinton, Terrofare and Walter the 3rd, were her blessings, her boys.

Her bonus sons sent by God. Carl, Levi, Amos, and Curtis, her heart truly loved.

Her daughters she crowned Queen, Nease (Myra), Kay (Karen) Chel (Stephanie Michelle), Star (Starletha), Stacia, Kris (Kristina) they got it from their momma, I mean!…

SHE IS LOVED,

SHE IS HONORED SHE IS VIRTUE

SHE IS PROMISE

SHE IS CHURCH MOTHER GOD MOTHER

LIKE NO OTHER

SHE IS FREE

NO PAIN

SHE IS FREE

SHE STILL SINGS

SHE IS FREE

SHE GOT HER WINGS
