A former Ocala City Council candidate has donated all remaining campaign contributions to a local non-profit organization.
Rusty Juergens, a previous candidate for Ocala City Council District 3, contacted the Marion County Literacy Council last week and informed the organization that he will be donating the remainder of his city council campaign contributions to them.

During the election on September 21, Juergens was one of the candidates involved in a tight race for Ocala City Council District 3.
Out of the 9,212 votes that were cast, incumbent Jay Musleh garnered over 43% of the votes (3,981), Ty Schlicter received 30% of the votes (2,788), and Juergens finished third with 2,443 votes.
