The Yellow Heart Memorial is hosting a statewide COVID-19 memorial in Crystal River this weekend.

On Saturday, February 5, beginning at 4 p.m., the temporary exhibit will be on display at the Crystal River Mall located at 1801 NW U.S. Highway 19.

The memorial will honor more than 63,000 Florida residents who lost their lives due to COVID-19. Hundreds of yellow hearts will be on display with individual names, and an opening ceremony will be held for their surviving loved ones.

In addition, the memorial will also feature hand-drawn silhouettes of COVID-19 victims in yellow hearts.

The memorial will be on display at Crystal River Mall for an indefinite period of time and organizers will add names to the memorial on a continual basis.
