CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion will be hosting an upcoming meeting to discuss the recruitment and training needs of businesses in marine manufacturing and related industries.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Best Western Gateway Grand Hotel, which is located at 4200 NW 97th Boulevard in Gainesville. A light lunch will be provided to all attendees.
There will be a focus on the following areas of discussion:
- Positions currently recruiting.
- Skills needed for entry-level workforce.
- Skill upgrades needed for current workforce.
- Identification of key supply chain industries.
During the meeting, CareerSource CLM will be joined by CareerSource North Central Florida, and the following regional partners will also take part in the discussion: the College of Central Florida, Marion Technical College, Nature Coast Business Development Council, Santa Fe College, and the Gainesville Chamber of Commerce.
Rusty Skinner, CEO of CareerSource CLM, said, “There are a number of boat builders in our two regions, plus many related businesses including trailer manufacturers, repairs and parts, boating supplies, makers of upholstery for boats, transport of boats to market, and the like. These businesses help keep our economy afloat and we want to learn how we can help build and sustain their workforce.”
