An 18-year-old man from Ocala was killed on Friday evening after his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.
At approximately 10:40 p.m., the man was traveling eastbound in a sedan on SE 95th Street, just east of SE 7th Avenue Road in Marion County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol incident report. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
The sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed when it veered off the roadway and collided with a tree. After the impact, the vehicle caught on fire.
The man was pronounced deceased by Marion County Fire Rescue paramedics who arrived on scene. His next of kin have been notified.
The name of the man who was killed in the crash was not released by FHP.
