The College of Central Florida is currently accepting artist proposals for a new art piece that will be designed and installed at one of its campuses.
The college announced in a social media post that it has received a grant, in the amount of $2,000, to fund the design and installation of this art piece. These funds will cover the cost of materials, labor, and installation, and additional funds may become available based on the scope of the project.
All artists are welcome to submit proposals that are inspired by the themes of learning, growth, and support. While the art may contain any medium (mural, sculpture, interactive media, etc.), it should be made of long-lasting materials that are suitable for a permanent installation.
The deadline to submit a proposal is on Saturday, December 31. Once the winning proposal is selected, the art piece will be scheduled for creation and installation in the spring of 2023.
According to the College of Central Florida, its Ocala, Citrus, and Levy campuses are currently being considered as potential spots to display the completed art project. Other locations may be available as well, depending on the proposed art type and scope.
The college will consider all sites equally, though only one location will ultimately be chosen for this art project.
