One person was killed, and another was critically injured, in a two-vehicle crash that occurred on County Road 326 in Ocala on Friday morning.

At approximately 9 a.m., a 74-year-old man was traveling in a sedan near the Wandering Oaks RV Resort. As the man approached the intersection of County Road 326 in the sedan, he failed to yield the right of way to a motorcycle that was traveling eastbound on County Road 326, according to the Florida Highway Patrol incident report.

FHP stated that the sedan proceeded to enter the intersection, and the front of the motorcycle collided with the left side of the sedan.

After the impact, the sedan rotated counterclockwise and came to a final rest in a ditch located on the south grass shoulder of County Road 326. The motorcycle also rotated counterclockwise before coming to a final rest in the outside lane of County Road 326.

The driver and sole occupant of the sedan sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased.

The motorcycle’s sole occupant, a 42-year-old man from Ocala, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

The names of the individuals involved in the accident were not released by the Florida Highway Patrol.
