The City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department sprang into action last week to help a kitten that was stuck in a tree.
On Friday, February 3, a local resident spotted the stuck kitten and contacted the recreation and parks department. Several individuals who lived in the area informed the department that the kitten had been stuck in the tree for approximately four days.
Bill Rodriguez-Cayro (Parks Division Head) made a few phone calls and located a bucket truck that could assist with the rescue efforts, according to the Ocala Recreation and Parks Department.
Upon arrival at the tree, Greg Vandeventer (Park Operations) geared up for the rescue attempt and utilized the bucket truck to reach the kitten.
After a short chase in the tree, Vandeventer was able to pick up the kitten and bring it into the bucket with him.
After the rescue was completed, the kitten was reunited with its happy owners.
