Several readers recently submitted letters to Ocala-News.com to discuss bringing a water park to Ocala. In response to those letters, three more readers wrote in to share their thoughts on the topic.
“We definitely need a water park here. I’ve spoken about this idea a few years ago, and a water park is really needed for the residents of Ocala and surrounding areas. All this land and space is available, use it for the citizens. Stop all these restaurants and let them exercise by swimming,” says Ocala resident Audrey Rembert.
“I agree with everyone, we need a water park. Like the one we used to have by Silver Springs. It will give people in Ocala something to do and have their children enjoy everything that a water park and pool has to offer the family,” says Nelson Perez, Ocala resident.
“I was born and raised here in Ocala, and I call it Slowcala because there is nothing for kids to do here. We need to bring back the water park for our children, grandchildren, and our community,” says Belleview resident Tina Gores.
