A fire that broke out in a car on a flatbed traveling along SE 92nd Place was taken under control by Marion county fire crews just hours after a similar incident shut down a stretch of I-75.
Firefighters from the Marion County Fire Rescue and Belleview Fire Department were dispatched to the 5300 block of SE 92nd Place in Ocala on Saturday, July 29, at around 3:53 p.m.
The 911 caller reported that a car on a flatbed trailer had caught fire.
Crews arrived on the scene at 3:58 p.m. as the driver was working to remove the car from the trailer.
Firefighters deployed hose lines and brought the fire under control by 4:03 p.m.
No injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters, according to officials.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The incident happened just a couple hours after another car fire shut down a stretch of I-75.
