The Marion County Parks and Recreation Department’s kayaking program, Kayak & Koffee, is returning on Friday, August 11 with a trip to Chassahowitzka River.
On the day of the event, participants will meet at Brick City Adventure Park (1211 SE 22nd Road in Ocala) at 7:45 a.m. for coffee and a light breakfast before shuttling to Chassahowitzka River near the Seven Sisters Springs.
During the guided paddle down the river, participants will learn about the surrounding wildlife. The parks and recreation department states that paddlers will enjoy this event the most if they know basic paddling concepts and how to swim.
The event is open to adults (ages 18 and up). There is a $50 fee per participant, and all equipment, travel, entrance fees, coffee, and refreshments are included in the outing. This fee will be lowered to $25 for any participants who bring their own equipment.
