Stephen Mark Brown, of Ocala FL. passed away suddenly on August 4, 2023, at the age 65. He was born to Ray and Mary Brown in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma May 29, 1958. He grew up in Oklahoma City and Poteau Oklahoma and graduated from Howe High School 1978.

After high school he went to work at Western Electric which eventually was spun off to Lucent Technologies. Steve worked at the Oklahoma City plant for nearly 22 years. In July of 2000 he transferred to the Reading plant in Pennsylvania where he worked until he retired.

After retirement he moved to Monticello, Indiana on Lake Freeman. While in Indiana Steve worked security at the Indianapolis 500 and the Nascar 200 races. In 2009 Steve moved to Ocala, Florida where he eventually took a part time job on the Jacarie Farm for Janet and Wayne Verville. This was his favorite fun job as he loved animals and was treated with appreciation and respect.

Steve actively collected sports memorabilia. Created beautiful stained-glass pieces. Threw darts and played pool. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #2356. He and his wife traveled and also attended many pro baseball and football games. They also went to numerous concerts as well as a movie or two a month. He liked to binge tv particularly sci-fi, action, thrillers and horror series. He watched a couple of game shows and of course Jeopardy every day.

Stephen is preceded in death by his father Ray Brown, mother Mary (Wiggington) Brown and brother Freddie Bennett.

He is survived by his wife Jacqueline of 25 years and his little dog Bella Gracie; his beloved daughter and son-in-law Stephanie & George Hailey; Granddaughters London & Avery. Grandson Greyson and precious great granddaughter Brynn. Sisters; Sandra (Steve) Allen, Sherry Heflin, Sheila Henry and brother Michael (Nancy) Brown. He also had numerous close nieces, nephews and cousins.

Steve’s wishes are to be cremated. Memorial/Funeral service will be held at the Unified Vision Church, 2323 SW 44th Street Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and live streamed on Facebook for those unable to attend. Date and Time to be determined.
