One driver was trauma alerted on Tuesday afternoon following a three-vehicle crash with rollover that occurred at an intersection in southwest Ocala.
Shortly after 1:40 p.m., Marion County Fire Rescue units were dispatched to the intersection of SW 99th Street Road and SW Highway 200 in Ocala. According to MCFR, several 911 callers had reported that a vehicle had rolled over with the driver trapped inside.
At around 1:45 p.m., multiple MCFR units arrived at the scene of the crash, and the firefighters worked quickly to extricate the driver from an overturned red vehicle.
The driver was freed from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital as a trauma alert.
The Florida Highway Patrol also responded to investigate the cause of the multi-vehicle collision.
As of 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27, the FHP accident report is not yet available, though a lieutenant confirmed to Ocala-News.com that the three vehicles involved in the crash were a 2019 Hyundai, 2016 Toyota, and 2023 Kia.
The lieutenant stated that the driver of the Hyundai was a 73-year-old man, and the driver of the Kia was a 76-year-old man.
No further details were provided by FHP regarding the accident or the driver of the Toyota.
