The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has identified the two victims who were found deceased with gunshot wounds inside a residence in southeast Ocala on Sunday morning.
According to the MCSO Major Crimes unit, the victims of the double homicide have been identified as 32-year-old Kevin Ray Russell and 60-year-old Sandy Kara Bobman.
According to the MCSO incident report, a man had traveled to a residence located in the 3000 block of SE 52nd Avenue in Ocala, in the Whispering Sands neighborhood, to “check on his friends.” Once at the residence, the man discovered the bodies of both victims, and he contacted law enforcement.
At around 11 a.m. on Sunday, MCSO deputies responded to the incident location. When deputies arrived on scene, they located the two deceased victims, Russell and Bobman, inside the residence. Both victims had sustained gunshot wounds.
A GoFundMe fundraiser was set up by Russell’s brother to help cover the cost of his funeral and burial expenses.
MCSO Major Crimes detectives are continuing their investigation into the double homicide, and they are asking for help from the public.
