To the Editor:
I pretty much agree as to what a previous letter writer said about Costco locating a store in Ocala. But why then is there not a Costco in Gainesville, where there’s a higher concentration of people and a higher ratio of income, not to mention the University of Florida with 50,000 plus students? I’m not sure why there’s not one there, but I surely would drive 30 to 40 minutes, from where I live in Ocala, to shop at Costco than drive to either Clermont or Wesley Chapel to shop, which by both accounts are over an hour away from Ocala. We do shop at Sam’s Club as it’s the only alternative, but we hate having to drive there as we live on the eastern side of Ocala and traffic is terrible any time you try to drive there.
