MCFR crash involving minivan and Amazon tractor trailer (November 14, 2023) minivan

One person was hospitalized on Tuesday morning after their minivan collided with an Amazon semi-truck near an intersection in Marion County.

At around 11:05 a.m., Marion County Fire Rescue units were dispatched to the intersection of SE 174th Court and E Highway 40 in reference to a crash involving a minivan and semi-truck. According to MCFR, multiple individuals had called 911 to report that one of the drivers was injured.

The first of several MCFR units arrived on scene at 11:09 a.m. and observed that the driver of the minivan was trapped inside the vehicle.

Firefighters managed to free the minivan’s driver from the wreckage shortly before 11:20 a.m., and the driver was transported to a local hospital as a trauma alert.

No details were provided by MCFR regarding the driver of the Amazon semi-truck or their condition.

The Florida Highway Patrol is currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause and origin of the crash.

The names of the drivers involved in the accident were not released by Marion County Fire Rescue.
