A 28-year-old woman is wanted by Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies after she allegedly used a fraudulent check to steal a vehicle from a business in Ocala.
In a social media post on Wednesday, Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods stated that Alexandria Simone Walker is wanted for grand theft of a motor vehicle and organized fraud.
On October 11, 2023, Walker went to Baseline Auto Care Center in Ocala to purchase a BMW. An employee at the business filled out all the paperwork, and Walker handed over a cashier’s check for the total amount plus a $100 tip, according to MCSO.
When the owner went to deposit the check, they were informed that it was fraudulent. Walker told the business that she would return to pay for the vehicle, but MCSO stated that she has failed to do so.
Deputies later located the stolen BMW. During a search of the vehicle, they found printers, blank checks, and an iPad in the trunk, according to the sheriff’s office.
“Now, Alexandria, we know you don’t like paying for things, but it is time to pay the piper,” stated Sheriff Woods. “If you don’t turn yourself in, our citizens will.”
If you have any information about Walker’s whereabouts, Sheriff Woods asks that you call the Crime Stoppers of Marion County at 352-368-STOP (7867) and reference 23-59 in your tip.
In the event that you use Crime Stoppers and your tip leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a cash reward.
