Three people were hospitalized on Thursday afternoon following a multi-vehicle crash in Marion County.
Shortly after 1:25 p.m., Marion County Fire Rescue units responded to County Road 326 in reference to a head-on collision involving three vehicles, according to MCFR.
The first MCFR unit arrived at the scene of the crash at 1:37 p.m. Crew members observed one vehicle with heavy damage, and two vehicles had sustained moderate damage in the crash.
Additional MCFR units arrived shortly afterwards, and firefighters worked quickly to remove one of the vehicles off a sedan that had an entrapped driver.
The sedan’s driver was soon freed from the wreckage and transported to a local hospital as a trauma alert.
Two other individuals involved in the accident were also taken to local hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.
The names and ages of the individuals involved in the crash were not released by Marion County Fire Rescue.
