The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who allegedly stole a gas station clerk’s credit cards and used them at two local stores.
On December 8, 2023, a clerk working at the Sunoco gas station at 13003 N Highway 441 in Citra reported that their iPhone and credit cards had been stolen, according to a social media post from MCSO.
Later that same day, the victim’s credit cards were used at a Dollar General and liquor store in Fort McCoy. While investigating the case, MCSO detectives obtained images of a male suspect (pictured below) who allegedly used the victim’s credit card at the liquor store.
“We’ve been showing his picture around town, trying to identify him, but without success,” stated the sheriff’s office. “The funny thing is a lot of people recognize him, but nobody can seem to agree on his actual name.”
According to MCSO, helpful individuals pointed detectives in the direction of the male suspect’s live-in girlfriend. When detectives spoke with her, she advised that she did not know the male suspect’s name either.
If you have any information about the male suspect’s identity or his current whereabouts, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office asks that you call 352-732-9111.
