Ocala firefighters rushed to a local mobile home park on Thursday evening after one of the trailers became engulfed in flames.
At around 7:20 p.m., Ocala Fire Rescue units consisting of Engines 2, 3, and 7, Tower 1, Rescue 3, a Safety Officer, and Battalion Chiefs 11 and 22 were dispatched to Shadow Oaks Mobile Home Park (3230 SE 10th Avenue) in reference to a structure fire.
According to OFR, Engine 7’s crew members were able to see heavy fire through the woods while pulling out of the fire station.
Upon arrival at the mobile home park, OFR crews observed a single-story, single-wide trailer that was on fire, and heat from the blaze was threatening a nearby vehicle.
Firefighters immediately began attacking the blaze. They managed to prevent the fire from spreading to the vehicle, and the flames were soon extinguished.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown, according to OFR.
There were no injuries reported.
The Ocala Police Department, Marion County Fire Rescue, and Ocala Electric Utility also responded.
