Stop the building in Ocala/Marion County

To the Editor:

I understand that development is a fact of life. However, get the infrastructure in place first. Supposedly, our illustrious leaders passed something that gives them 15 years to get infrastructure in place. That makes zero sense. Even if that isn’t true, the planning committee needs to limit the amount of new development happening all at once.

At least get the roads in place at a minimum. The traffic has gotten out of control and car insurance has almost tripled for those of us that bother to get insurance. I have never had an accident that I was a driver or received a ticket, yet my insurance doubled. Per the insurance agent, it’s due to the area we live in and Florida as a whole.

What has changed? The influx of people and building. The roads are not matching the amount of cars, and accidents are happening left and right. I’m ready to move. All the horse farms and cow spots are disappearing left and right.

Also, can we have a different grocery store other than Publix? How about an Ingles or Kroger just to mix it up. Maybe Publix will lower their prices a bit.

Rant over.
