The City of Ocala has announced the road closures and detours that will be in effect for the upcoming Martin Luther King, Jr. Day March.
The event will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, January 15 at the Downtown Ocala Square, and it will end at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Complex located at 1510 NW 4th Street.
The following road closures will be in effect on Monday, January 15, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.:
- State Road 40, from NE 8th Avenue to NW Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.
- U.S. 441, from State Road 200/SW 10th Street to U.S. 27/NW 10th Street.
- S/N Magnolia Avenue, from SW Fort King Street to NW 1st Street.
- SW/NW 3rd Avenue, from SW 3rd Street to NW 1st Street.
- SW/NW 2nd Avenue, from SW 3rd Street to NW 1st Street.
- SW/NW 1st Avenue, from SW Fort King Street to NW 1st Street.
- SW/SE Broadway Street, from U.S. 441 to SE 1st Avenue.
- SW/SE Fort King Street, from U.S. 441 to SW 1st Avenue.
- SW 2nd Street, from U.S. 441 to SW 1st Avenue.
Below are the main detour routes:
- State Road 40: NE 8th Avenue to State Road 492/NE/NW 14th Street to NW Martin Luther King, Jr Boulevard back to State Road 40.
- U.S. 441: State Road 200/SW 10th Street to SW/NW Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard to U.S. 27/NW 10th Street back to U.S. 441.
- S/N Magnolia Avenue (southbound): NE 1st Street to NE/SE Watula Avenue to SE Fort King Street back to S Magnolia Avenue.
- SW/NW 1st Avenue: SW/SE Fort King Street to NE/SE Watula Avenue to NE/NW 1st Street back to NW 1st Avenue.
