The Humane Society of Marion County is hosting a new monthly program that allows local youth, between the ages of 10 and 15, to socialize and play with cats.
The program, Meeting New Furrends, will be held one to two times a month at the Humane Society, which is located at 710 NW 14th Road in Ocala.
During each 30-minute session, participating youth will get to interact with cats in a quiet and private room.
The Humane Society will provide treats, toys, catnip, and more for each participant’s four-legged feline friend.
Drinks and comfortable blankets will also be provided for the kids.
The next classes will be held on Saturday, January 27, at 2:30 p.m. (ages 10-12) and 3 p.m. (ages 13-15). There are a total of 10 spots available per class, and registration is required in order to attend.
Additional sessions will take place on the following Saturdays: February 3, February 17, March 2, April 6, and May 4.
