A rising country singing artist from Ocala has released her first single fresh off multiple performances across local venues in the area.
Emma Forgette released her first single, “Counting to 3,” across several music platforms on Friday, February 16.
The young musical talent, who is from Ocala, had been previewing the song for several weeks leading up to its release this week:
According to Forgette, the new single played on the radio for the first time at 12 a.m. EST on WEFT 90.1 FM, a radio station representing east central Illinois that regularly features a “First Time Ever” series.
Forgette is a common face on the local music scene, having performed at recreation centers in The Villages and the Orange Blossom Ospry, which is located in Weirsdale.
The artist recorded her debut single last July at Quad Recording Studios in New York City, which is the same studio in which Michael Jackson recorded Thriller. The studio has also featured the likes of Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Bob Dylan, and dozens of some of the most famous recording artists in the world.
Forgette described the experience as one she’ll “never forget” and said she was “in awe” while standing in the recording booth.
“It was such a great experience, and the studio felt like home. I can’t wait to do it again, and maybe sometime soon, I’ll release a debut album. I can’t wait for y’all to hear it,” said Forgette in a social media post after the recording.
