A stretch of roadway in front of Saddlewood Elementary School will be closed for over two months beginning tomorrow as construction crews continue work in the area.
To accommodate the first phase of road construction from the SW 44th Avenue project, the city of Ocala says it will close SW 43rd Court to “all traffic” between SW 36th Street and SW 40th Street.
According to the city, the closure will begin on Tuesday, May 28, and will be in effect until August 1.
The roadway runs alongside Saddlewood Elementary School, which is located at 3700 SW 43rd Court.
“This project will be completed in multiple phases over the next few months and drivers should anticipate interruptions to the regular flow of traffic where these road widening projects will take place,” reads a statement from the city.
The city says that message boards and other devices will be used to notify drivers of the new traffic pattern.
While crews are present, motorists may experience delays and be subjected to dust and heavy equipment noise within the area.
Local traffic to residential properties and businesses will be permitted and flaggers will be present to direct traffic, according to the city.
