Shirley Ann Wilks Flaherty, 77, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on June 16, 2024, after a brief illness.
Shirley, a lifelong Florida resident, was born in Lake City, Florida, to the late James and Nettie Wilks. She graduated from Columbia High School, and pursued rewarding careers in the legal profession, real estate and retired after running a successful family business in the Ocala area. After retirement, she enjoyed pursuing her passions for antique collecting, art, drawing, reading, writing, hiking and travel. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Shirley is survived by James Flaherty, her children Deborah and Steven, her brother Donald, eight amazing grandchildren and many other beloved friends and family.
She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, infectious laugh, and her caring spirit, and will be very much missed.
A celebration of life for Shirley will be scheduled in the near future.
