A 31-year-old woman was shot and killed in Ocala last month, and detectives are hoping that an increased cash reward of nearly $10,000 will encourage anyone with information on this shooting to come forward.
On Saturday, June 29, at around 10:35 p.m., Ocala Police Department officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of NW 20th Avenue in reference to shots being fired in the area, according to OPD.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a woman who was deceased. She was later identified by Ocala police as 31-year-old Faye Porter.
A homicide investigation was launched, and the police department stated in a social media post on Sunday, June 30, that detectives don’t believe there is any danger to the community.

According to Ocala police, the additional $6,500 reward will be available through June 30, 2025, and the anonymous tip must come through Crime Stoppers to be eligible for these additional funds.
