A new Starbucks under construction in northwest Ocala will join seven others in operation across the city when it opens, including one in northeast Ocala that opened in May.
The new cafe is currently under construction on two adjacent parcels located at 2555 and 2605 NW 46th Avenue. The 3,000-square-foot, single-story building is situated on outparcels at the Shops at Foxwood shopping plaza.
No opening date has been announced for the new location.
According to Marion County property records, the site is owned by One Oak Foxwood, LLC, a company owned by Hupp Holdings, LLC, which is based in Clearwater, Florida. Hupp Holdings, LLC is registered to Andrew J. Hupp, a licensed Real Estate Broker and principal at One Oak Development.
Hupp’s company has over 25 years of experience completing projects for some of the nation’s largest corporations, including Walmart, RaceTrac, Walgreens, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Wawa, Chipotle, Chick-fil-A, and Starbucks.
When it opens, the new location will be one of at least eight Starbucks across the city of Ocala.
That includes the newest Starbucks, which opened at 3727 East Silver Springs Boulevard in May.
Most of the city’s other Starbucks are situated along SW College Road/State Road 200, including locations standalone locations at 2710 SW College Road, 4602 SW College Road, 7819 SW College Road, and a cafe within the Target at 2000 SW College Road.
One of the Starbucks along SW College Road abruptly closed this year. That Starbucks, which was within the Paddock Mall, was managed by a separate company.
In 2021, a new Starbucks opened in southeast Ocala at 3537 SE Maricamp Road. That location was the first business at Saddleback Square Shopping Center, which will soon have a new Neighborhood Walmart.
According to Statista.com, there are currently over 38,000 Starbucks locations in the world, with over 900 of those in the state of Florida.
Although Starbucks and Dunkin’ sit at the top of the coffee chain heap in Ocala, there are multiple brands that have expanded or announced plans to expand into the city recently:
- Ellianos Coffee is currently working on its first location in Ocala on SR 200.
- Red Owl Coffee Company, a Georgia-based drive-thru coffee chain, announced plans to expand into Ocala earlier this year.
- Biggby Coffee opened a new location in southwest Ocala in March.
- OLA Coffee Drive-Thru has opened two locations in Ocala since last June.
