A new, 300-unit luxury apartment complex that was approved by commissioners just over two years ago has taken shape in northwest Ocala.
Spires 27 is currently under construction at 5353 US Hwy 27, adjacent to the Ocala Preserve community.
Approved by the Marion County Board of County Commissioners in August 2022, the site is being developed by Davis Companies of Newberry, Florida. Corporate records show that Davis Companies is registered to Stefan M. Davis and Kevin J. Bzoch.
The new development’s name and architectural features are inspired by the twin spires at Churchill Downs, which hosts the world’s most well-known equestrian race (Kentucky Derby).
Spires 27 will feature one-, two-, and three-bedroom luxury apartment homes with granite countertops, wood-style flooring, stainless steel appliances, in-home washers and dryers, walk-in closets, and private patios.
“The expansive list of resort-style amenities here at Spires provides opportunities for rejuvenation, relaxation, and enjoyment,” reads a statement from the organization’s website.
In addition to the apartment buildings, the development will also feature approximately 65,000 square feet of commercial space.
Spires 27 is located just west of two new commercial structures (Staybridge Suites and Starbucks) that are under development at the Shops at Foxwood.
