Casana Fink, who was recently crowned Miss Florida and was born and raised in Ocala, was honored on Tuesday with a proclamation dedicating the day in her honor.

Ocala Mayor Ben Marciano declared August 20, 2024 as “Casana Fink Day” during Tuesday night’s regular meeting of the Ocala City Council.

Fink, who was crowned Miss Florida in June, said she was grateful for the recognition and proud to call Ocala home. She said she has always spoken highly of her hometown and that moving away from Ocala made her “realize how special” the city, and its people, have always been in her life.

“I’m very grateful; very proud to be from Ocala,” said Fink.

A graduate of Forest High School in Ocala and the University of Florida, Fink has claimed several pageant titles over the years en route to her current crown. That includes the titles of Miss Ocala USA and Miss Ocala’s Outstanding Teen.

After winning the state crown in June, Fink said earning the title fulfilled a lifelong dream.

“God’s timing is always perfect. A childhood dream came true last night and I am in complete awe. So grateful for you, Florida,” said Fink in a post on social media.

In March, Fink claimed the title of Miss Tampa. That crown allowed her to participate in the statewide competition, where she beat out nearly 40 other delegates representing cities from all across the state of Florida.

During Tuesday’s meeting, Fink was recognized for her role as the chief operating officer of More Transplants, More Life, an organization whose mission is to increase the number of organ transplants and to provide support for patients and living donors.
