A 37-year-old man was killed on Thursday night after he drove his motorcycle through a four-way stop and crashed into another vehicle.

The fatal accident took place near the intersection of 62nd Avenue Road and SW 103rd Street Road in Ocala on Thursday, October 31, at around 9:44 p.m.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 59-year-old man from Ocala was driving a sport utility vehicle south on SW 62nd Avenue Road, approaching the roadway’s intersection with SW 103rd Street Road.

The intersection of the two roadways is controlled by a four-way stop, according to FHP.

As the SUV approached the intersection, the driver came to a controlled stop before proceeding.

According to FHP, the motorcyclist was traveling east on SW 103rd Street Road, approaching its intersection with SW 62nd Avenue Road, at the same time.

The motorcyclist failed to stop and, as a result, he entered the intersection as the same time as the SUV, causing the front of the motorcycle to strike the right side of the vehicle.
