Lane closures will continue for large stretches of Interstate 75 and State Road 200 this week for sodding, concrete, and drainage work.
The Florida Department of Transportation is advising motorists of periodic, overnight, rotating northbound and southbound lane closures for sodding between Exit 350 (SR 200) and Exit 341 (County Road 484).
Those lane closures will occur each night from Sunday, November 3, at 8 p.m., to Friday, November 8, at 6 a.m.
Additionally, FDOT is advising motorists of daytime northeast-bound outside lane closures on SR 200, from SE 27th Avenue to US 441/Pine Avenue for concrete and drainage work.
Those closures will go into effect on Monday, November 4 at 6 a.m. and will be in effect each day until 2 p.m. through Friday, November 8.
The improvements on I-75 are related to projects 443170-1 and 433651-1, which call for the resurfacing of I-75 and the addition of turn lanes and extensions at the I-75 interchange with CR 484. The projects will also improve bicycle lane and pedestrian sidewalk connectivity throughout the project limits. Other improvements include median modifications and upgrades to the existing traffic signals.
The project along SR 200 (439234-1) will replace portions of the multi-directional center lane with a raised concrete median and calls for the addition of segmented, left-turn lanes throughout the SR 200 corridor between I-75 and Pine Avenue.
“These upgrades will also reduce vehicle conflict points while encouraging safer driving speeds,” reads a statement from FDOT.
