A family-owned business just sold their 4.31-acre property in Ocala’s Historic District to HCA Florida Ocala Hospital for $7 million.

The multimillion-dollar sale was finalized on Wednesday, November 13, according to a deed filed with the Marion County Clerk of Courts.

The deed shows that Marion Community Hospital, Inc., purchased the property for $7,000,000 from Michele and Michael Valvo. The property is comprised of two parcels at 1128 SE 3rd Avenue and 1208 SE 3rd Avenue.

For years, the Valvo’s have operated their business, Southeastern Stone & Tile Inc, on the property. It is situated across from the entrance to the HCA Florida Ocala Hospital Emergency Room on S Magnolia Avenue.

According to state corporate records, Marion Community Hospital, Inc., is a subsidiary of the hospital, listing Samuel Hazen, Christopher Wyatt, and several other current hospital leaders as officers.

Marion County Property Appraiser records show that the two parcels encompass 3.22 acres and 1.09 acres.

Records indicate that the 3.22-acre parcel was purchased by Michele Valvo for $325,000 in 2001, while the 1.09-acre parcel was purchased in 1988 for $200,000 by Michele and Rosalie Valvo.

According to HCA Florida Healthcare’s website, the organization currently operates over 300 healthcare facilities across the state of Florida, including approximately eight establishments in Ocala and Marion County.
