An Ocala resident recently claimed a $500,000 jackpot from a lottery ticket that he purchased at a local gas station several months ago.
Richard Molk of Ocala visited the lottery’s Gainesville District Office recently to claim the $500,000 jackpot that he won from the Florida Lottery’s Jackpot Triple Play drawing held on August 13, 2024.
According to lottery officials, Molk became the 67th jackpot winner since the Jackpot Triple Play was launched in 2019. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $315,605.
Molk purchased his winning Jackpot Triple Play Quick Pick ticket from Diamond Oil located at 10801 SW 91st Avenue in Ocala. The retailer received a bonus commission of $1,000 for selling the winning ticket.
Jackpot Triple Play tickets offer players a “triple chance” to win the jackpot since each ticket comes with three sets of numbers to match with the winning numbers drawn. The jackpot starts at $250,000 and can roll over to reach up to $2 million.
Last month, the Florida Lottery announced that an Ocala man won $1 million from a scratch-off ticket purchased at a local Publix.
A Levy County resident also recently won a $2 million prize from the FLORIDA 100X THE CASH scratch-off game.
In September, several other local winners were announced by lottery officials, including a 63-year-old man and 57-year-old woman who both won $1 million after purchasing scratch-off tickets at Publix.
