The Florida Department of Transportation is advising motorists of rotating closures that will impact both lanes of travel along State Road 200 on Sunday and Monday, as crews continue to work to improve the roadway in the days before Christmas.

On Sunday, December 22, at 8 a.m., rotating, daytime, northeast-bound and southwest-bound lane closures will be in effect on SR 200, from just east of Interstate 75 to U.S. Hwy 441/Pine Avenue.

Those closures will be in effect to allow workers to continue removing and installing new concrete curbs, sidewalks, and planters along the busy roadway.

Additionally, from 8 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday, December 23, there will be rotating overnight northeast-bound and southwest-bound lane closures along the same stretch as crews proceed to Phase 2 of striping the roadway.

All of the work is part of FDOT’s project to improve safety and make operational enhancements to SR 200 from east of the interstate to U.S. Hwy 441.

The project includes the addition of multi-directional center lanes with raised concrete medians, as well as various segmented left-turn lanes throughout the corridor.

Additionally, lighting upgrades and new signs are being installed to enhance the safety of the sidewalk and to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
