To the Editor:
As the title of my thoughts suggest, I truly believe those responsible for overseeing Ocala and Marion County have allowed too much growth, too fast. We have lived in Marion County for a little over ten years and have seen increased traffic, a decline in traffic control and other law enforcement presence.
The road maintenance has become almost none existent, unless one complains repeatedly.
Noise complaints are addressed by Code Enforcement officers, but sheriff’s deputies
do not like to be bothered and do not enforce the excessive noise emitted
from vehicles.
Another increasing problem is with all the ATV and golf cart traffic on public roads. The last I heard, we now have twenty eight gangs in Marion County and drugs galore.
The growth in Marion County is way too much, too fast, and should be regulated so as not to out pace the growth of the county’s services.
