A new public library branch is coming soon to Silver Springs Shores, and Marion County officials are asking for the public’s help with naming it.

Slated to open this spring, the new Marion County Public Library branch will be located in the county-owned building currently known as the youth center, which is to the west of the Silver Springs Shores Community Center (590 Silver Road in Ocala).

Renovations for the public library will be overseen by Marion County Facilities Management, and Architecture Studios, Inc. will design the space. In addition, the renovations will be funded through community development block grant funding via Marion County Community Services.

The county is collecting suggestions for this new public library location’s name through Friday, January 31. To submit a suggestion, you can:

  • Stop by any Marion Couty Public Library System location.
  • Visit the Silver Springs Shores Community Center (590 Silver Road in Ocala).
  • Send a message to Marion County Public Library System via social media accounts.
  • Provide the name suggestion over the phone by calling 352-671-8551.
